Our goals at the Camp Craig Allen’s Annual BBQ Cook Off is to have fun, have the best BBQ’d meats and raise lots of money for this non-profit organization. In order to raise money, each team strives to out beg the other team for donations. The team that raises the most money wins the “Best Begging Contest”. Donations are basically votes for your favorite team participating in this event.
All right, so much for the general explanation as to how this “Best Begging Contest” is going to work, so now – LET THE BEGGING BEGIN!
First, in order to donate, you need to go to “Donate to Your Favorite BBQ Team” and then select your favorite team, which will be “Blind Squirrel BBQ”. That’s us – remember?
When you click on the link “Donate to Your Favorite BBQ Team“, you’ll see a page with a bunch of square boxes with team names and the name of the team leader. Blind Squirrel BBQ is on the fifth row and looks like this:
See the “Donate” button? All you have to do after you go to “Donate to Your Favorite BBQ Team” is to find the “block” that has our team name “Blind Squirrel BBQ” (like the picture above on the FIFTH row) and click on that “DONATE” button. A new window will open so that you can donate using PayPal or any major credit card. See how easy that is?
We really, really want you to donate and we also want you to come out and join us for all the entertainment, food and fun on September 7th and 8th, 2012! And don’t forget, we really want you to make a donation to Camp Craig Allen in your favorite team’s name – that would be us! Once again, your favorite team is “Blind Squirrel BBQ”!
Reasons to donate to Camp Craig Allen:
- This is a non-profit organization located right here in North Texas that was created to fill a need by many physically disabled children and adults.
- Donating to a worthy cause makes you feel really good.
- Donations are tax deductible.
- Donations by companies are not only tax deductible, but are also a way for companies to give back to their communities.
- When companies and their employees work together to make a donation, it not only benefits the non-profit organization and its community, it also builds the relationship between them which enhances overall productivity.
- Donations made in your favorite team’s name, that would be us – Blind Squirrel BBQ, will help us get that much closer to winning the “Best Begging Contest”.
- The entertainment that will be provided at the event is worth so much more than the small fee charged for entrance, if any, For instance, tickets are required for Friday night’s events (Sept 7th), but they only cost $20 per person. In return for this small fee, you get dinner, casino chips and entertainment from live bands. The entrance fee for Saturday is FREE, but if you’re willing to spend $10, then you’ll receive an unlimited BBQ bracelet. Do you know what that means? Wearing that unlimited BBQ bracelet means that you get to sample all of the BBQ’d meats from all of the teams! Now, don’t you see that the entertainment and food provided at this event is worth so much more than the $10 or $20 “entrance” fees? Don’t you think a donation is the right thing to do?

- Your favorite BBQ team (that’s us – Blind Squirrel BBQ) will appreciate any donation amount, nothing is too small or large. Remember, every amount counts and is needed!
